Digital Nation

I was not surprised by the shortened types of writing students were doing and how they were disconnected from one paragraph to another.  In an age where we are so bombarded with technology, it becomes harder to focus for longer periods of time.  I find myself in this same situation.  I have become easily distracted when I have more going on around me, than when it is quite and peaceful so I can focus on what I am doing.  If it is hard for us as adults to focus, how can we possibly expect our students and children to focus?  On the other hand, how can we use this technology to benefit our students, without it consuming their lives, and becoming a distraction?
